Vincent and Sarah’s paths crossed several times over the years. It’s a wonder they didn’t connect sooner really. They grew up in the same church, but it wasn’t until the tail end of college that they hopped out of the friend zone as Sarah put it, and really hit it off. And spending time around them, it’s easy to see why they connected. Sarah relaxes in the simplicity of Vincent placing a hand on the small of her back as they walk together. Vincent’s eyes light up as Sarah talks passionately about her job teaching. They exchange knowing glances often. Their favorite place to be is with each other, doing anything, doing everything. Even if it’s just browsing the aisles of Target :]
This Valentine’s Day, Vincent set out to make it official and ask for forever. Sarah never saw it coming. Because proposing on Valentine’s Day was cliche and something they always talked about not doing. They visited a paint your own pottery cafe on an icy, snowy evening. Sarah chatted away, blissfully unaware of what was to come, and Vincent methodically painted the inside of a bowl blue, blue, blue, hoping she wouldn’t notice his nerves. And then the real reason they were there, a specially painted piece of pottery that Vincent had prepared, leading to the most important question he could ask her.
Strolling through downtown Alexandria with Vincent and Sarah was such a dream! There’s an easiness to their presence, a warm inviting constant conversation in being with them. We searched for little nooks and crannies to shoot in as we walked and talked, ending by the waterfront. The night went too quickly and I can’t believe we’ve got to wait until November to do it all again!
Love this!
