Today is Tuesday which means we’re already halfway through the week! (right?!) And it’s September! And yesterday was labor day! These are all just facts with exclamation points on the end!

But seriously, we’re two thirds of the way through the YEAR. Dang. I’m still accidentally typing 2015 in emails. But on the bright side, that means that it’s that glorious almost Fall time. Brisk mornings and sweaters are in our future, friends. And that is something to celebrate! David and I are working back into a “normal” schedule where the students are back this week. And I can’t express how deeply glad we are that he’s done with school. What a miracle! I got out my color coding skills for our calendars and we’re trading off baby duty and meeting with students and getting work done on the business! It’s nice to be that kind of team again after two years of long hours on campus for him.

This last week was a special kind of tiring. So instead of deep cleaning our house and baby proofing like we promised each other we would this weekend…we ordered take out and watched the Office and read and I took a couple naps. Sometimes free weekends are the best time for nothing to happen. And let’s be real, cleaning under the kitchen cabinets can always wait a day. Anyone else have that kind of weekend?

Now for some scattered afternoon feels.

• Saddest thing in the world: when Ollie is bouncing in his bouncer and becomes tired…but still really wants to bounce. So he bounces and cries at the same time. Part of me wants to rescue him and part of me just wants to watch him be pitiful because it’s so cute. (is this acceptable mom action?!)
• Today I asked Siri to “call mom” while I was yawning and she thought I said “call Bob.” So, that seems about right for a Tuesday.
• The episode of The Office where Jim and Pam have their baby is now a weird sort of a little too realistic and at least 10x more hilarious now that we’ve had a baby. Between the breastfeeding woes and Pam delaying going to the hospital, we were dying laughing and occasionally glancing at each other and remembering the horror.
• I read a whole book this weekend. In about 4 hours. I highly recommend “Everything, Everything” if you’re into young adult novels and want something fun to read. :]
• If there’s one thing David and I are good at…it’s milking an Olive Garden meal for all it’s worth. Yes, we’ll take those free wine samples, soup and breadsticks to go, and as many Andes mints as you’ll give us.
• PS: I think Olive Garden gift cards are our love language.

Our engagement session with Seth and Tabitha had THE best light. Just glow-y and golden and perfect and I’m so excited to share!
