This Monday is extra sleepy. Because we got in at 1AM last night after an engagement session in Northern VA! Staying up late isn’t quite as fun when you’ve got a baby who doesn’t care to sleep in when you want to :] Funnily enough, little bear was bopping around in the car at about midnight like it was the middle of the day!

This last weekend, we took our first trip out of town in a month! I know that doesn’t sound like long, but I was itching to get out of Radford :] So between our engagement session and a family reunion, it was perfect timing! We spent a lot of time seeing my extended family and it was so different! We haven’t gotten to see a lot of the family since our wedding (at least!), so it was a nice little reunion. And they all got to meet Ollie. Which is a definite plus! Especially because they already felt like they knew him from social media! I think we all know that the internet is not such a happy and peaceful place come election season, but at least there’s cute babies! (and probably/preferably puppies)

Now we’re starting another jam packed week and loving the fact that there’s leaves to crunch outside! Bring it on Fall :] You might be my favorite. Except for the bugs that are seeking refuge in our house from the cold autumn nights.

Anyways. Feels. Because I’ve got some strong opinions to share.

• I don’t like tomatoes. Unless they’re diced. And the fleshy/seed filled middle is nowhere to be found. Never a sliced tomato. But I do like ketchup. In a packet. Never from a bottle in the fridge. Because then there’s ketchup juice. Preferably Mcdonald’s ketchup. Anyone with me?
• All of the above drive David absolutely insane.
• My new favorite app is called Shopkick. It lets you rack up points at most stores like Target, Kroger, Walmart, any retail, etc…for simply walking in and scanning items that are being promoted. If you earn enough points, you get sent a gift card  to the store of your choosing. So yes, while I do feel odd scanning cat food, when I don’t own a cat…it’s become my favorite game. Like a weird, old person version of Pokemon Go.
• This was the happiest mail week for the Phipps. Things that arrived: my 2017 Simplified Planner, our new throw pillows (!!!!), a new Chatbook, a cute teal scarf, and a surprise from David, a baby book for Ollie! Every day was like Christmas!
• It feels like being a bad under-pressure-parallel-parker is a serious inconvenience in my life. I’ve been circling campus for foreverrrr looking for parking lately and just when I get the guts to parallel park on the street, a car will pull up behind me and I’ll abandon my attempts. Someone send help.
• Sitting in Starbucks on a college campus is not the place for a Kaitlyn. Why? Because almost everyone in college right now is named Kaitlyn/Caitlyn/Katelin/Caitlin/Kaytlin and the baristas call out their drinks every few seconds. And that drink is almost never for me.

Guys, I’m over the moon excited to share Brian and Casey’s session! They’re SO fun and it was the best finally getting to meet them after 9 months of being internet friends! PS: how gorgeous is her dress?
