The leaves started turning last weekend and the temperature dropped. Seth and Tabitha were definitely having an Autumn wedding. The day was a labor of love. Almost all of the vendors were personal friends (including us :]) and there was a deep feeling of community in the air. Seth and Tabitha had over 200 people show up for their wedding day. All of them people who fiercely loved them and were rooting for them. Tabitha relayed this to me in disbelief, surprised that so many people cared for them and wanted to cheer for them. But if you know these two at all, it makes perfect sense.
Sixteen year old Tabitha wrote a letter to her future husband at camp. And that was the same summer and same place that she met Seth. And today, she was marrying him! As we drove over to the Blue Ridge Parkway for the first look, I asked Tabitha which part of the day she was most excited for. She replied, “I think right now.” Seeing Seth’s reaction. She was just so excited for him to see her. And let me tell you friends, he did not disappoint. I tapped Seth on the shoulder to say hi before giving Tabitha the green light, told him it was time to see his bride, and the tears started. Seth is a tender hearted and extremely loving guy, and that showed in the way that he anticipated Tabitha. She walked forward, through the narrow path, leaves rustling behind her as she came out to a clearing with the most perfect view of the blue ridge mountains. And there was Seth. Back turned, waiting for her. He was overcome with emotion as soon as he turned around! I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves, but you can see how much Seth loves Tabitha in the way he responded in that moment.
Seth and Tabitha’s greatest hope is that their relationship would hold Jesus Christ up high. That through them, people would see Him. From the thoughtful touches throughout their ceremony, to the way they spent the entire evening interacting with their guests, I’d say they’re off to a great start.
We’ve known Seth (and now Tabitha!) for awhile now and it was so special to be a part of their wedding celebration :] We’re excited to see what God has for you guys in marriage! Happy honeymooning you two :]
The sweetest reaction from her girls!
Tabitha, you’re beautiful!
They exchanged letters before their first look. And Tabitha included a letter she’d written to her future husband, at age 16. The same summer that she met Seth.
I couldn’t resist sharing so many images from their first look! It was tear inducing!
Taking a moment to pray before their day together began.
Such fun friends!
They both audibly gasped when they were pronounced husband and wife…and then descended into a fit of giggles.
They poured syrup on a waffle cake instead of a cake cutting! So fun!
