Happy Halloween friends! Today is Ollie’s first Halloween so I’m actually blogging from the past aka Sunday night :] This is in hopes that we’ll take advantage of “be your own boss” and spend the second half of the day hanging with Ollie and watching him be cute in his costume :] (which I’m keeping under wraps for now…but will surely post on instagram later!)
We’re coming off of a super restful weekend! It’s the first one in six weeks that we took totally off. No emails, no computers, no editing! :] It was wonderful! And we basically tried to jam all of October into one weekend! We visited the pumpkin patch, figured out our last minute Halloween costumes, and spent relaxed unlimited time with each other. I even took two naps :] I’ve always been a homebody, but some part of me growing up always felt odd when I didn’t have weekend plans. Now I’m totally the opposite! Give me a weekend in with my boys over big old crowds any day! My introverted husband will make a plan to have no plan with me in an instant. And for that, I’m oh so thankful.
This last week also held two anniversary/maternity session! Now that I’m on the other side aka experiencing being a momma, it’s so much sweeter to spend time with couples who are expecting. We can talk pregnancy, new parent fears, and we just personally know both the awesomeness and the sleepless nights that they’re headed into! It reminds me to try my best to treasure being a parent. It’s a true blessing and I’m surprised over and over by how much I enjoy being a mom.
Now I’ve got some feelings for ya:
Heading to the pumpkin patch always feels special because it’s where we got married! And this anniversary session was especially special because the woman pictured below had a profound impact on my life. Can’t wait to share!
