I’ve known Alex since we were one years old. Our moms met each other in the driveway of our daycare provider while Alex was deeply and emotionally protesting her car seat. My mom stopped to say hi and the rest was history. We’ve gotten to grow up together! We went through childhood, awkward preteen years, and we even went to the same college! Most of my best memories from growing up involve Alex and her family. Long summer days spent poolside, tropical vacations, New Years spent in the mountains…and I won’t even mention the homemade music videos. My sister and I would spend weekends out at their farm, seemingly separated from the rest of society. We always drove out there with so much excitement for what was the come! The Moffetts’ house has always been a haven to us. I really don’t know life without Alex and her family. They’re constants.
Alex is such a treasured friend. And I’m sure everyone who knows her would agree. She’s unfailingly kind. To everyone, all the time. She always gives the benefit of the doubt. And she’s crazy generous. She’s a great listener and such a good sister and daughter. She’s the kind of person who wants to know how everyone is doing, because she genuinely cares. She’s also a little bit of a weirdo sometimes and I love it. It may just be because we grew up together, but I love that quirky version of Alex so much! Also did I mention she’s gorgeous? :]
Since we were 5 years old, locking ourselves in her bedroom and spilling our secret crushes, I’ve wondered who she’d end up with. And now it’s just crazy because that day has finally come! And little did I know, she’d be marrying someone I knew too! Enter Ryan! I have such an odd story of how I met Ryan, but that’s a story for another day! (it most definitely involved him pretending to be studying with noise canceling headphones on, when he was actually eaves dropping) Ryan and Alex were good friends freshman year of college and stayed in touch throughout school. They reconnected senior year and made it official the day after we graduated! They started their journey into adulthood together and have navigated it all side by side. Ryan makes her light up like I’ve never seen before! He makes her laugh. He lets her let out her weird :] I’ve genuinely never seen someone as excited as when she texted us a picture of her in the mountains, in disbelief that Ryan had proposed!
Last week, we adventured in their backyard in Leesburg. It was freezing and kind of snowy so we all wore boots and coats and we adventured. Just like we used to when we were younger. We stayed out until the sun had left the sky. Things were the same as then but also so different. Because this time, we were out there with our men. It was a dream session for so many reasons! The couple, the setting, the fact that Alex and Ryan scouted out an awesome fallen tree that had fallen over a creek! I’m so, so excited to be sharing today!
Ryan and Alexandra (alexandwa if i’m articulating like I did when I was six :]), we love you guys!
SO pretty, Alex :]

Isn’t this the coolest spot ever?!
Definite favorite. The sun came out for us for a few minutes!
