We’re starting off our week with a slow Monday due to snow and an Ollie who’s confidently learned to clap and wants us to join him :] I’d say that’s reason enough, right? It’s the cutest reason there is to have a slow Monday!
To be honest, this last week feels pretty hazy for me. We worked a lot and the internet was a tornado of sad/bad and then I got sick this weekend. I spent Saturday and Sunday in and out of a blur of naps and binging on Netflix and occasionally Ollie coming over to hit me with blocks or smile at me or get my attention in some way. Being sick on the weekend is such a bummer! I’m thankful not to be sick when I’d need to cancel something…but also…isn’t that the only benefit of getting sick? :] To my benefit, I did get the privilege of David being home to take care of me and relieve me of all Ollie duty. And the privilege of watching about a season and a half of How I Met Your Mother. So yes, I’ve been in a little bit of HIMYM stupor the last 48 hours, but I’m glad to be back in the land of the living. Now, I’ve just got to leave the house for the first time in 3 days.
It was a rough week, but it wasn’t without its highlights! We did Hellofresh for the first time and LOVED it. We got to do an engagement session in the gorgeous town of Moneta with two sweet people. And I got to talk weddings with lots of future brides! Now for some feels to round out this Monday.
- But for real, guys. Hellofresh is like our new favorite thing. We got a big old coupon in the mail so it was time to try it out! And we loved it. Meal planning & grocery shopping is one of the biggest stressors in our week because we both hate doing it. (and so David ends up taking it on) I promise you’ll be hooked if you try it. - Before I got sick, we were experiencing a fairly normal free weekend. Aka spending time at Target. And Ollie’s hatred of socks meant that once we finished the loop around the store, we noticed that he’d discarded his socks somewhere along the way. Which meant we had to retrace our steps and search for his socks.
- This also led to this awkward moment – Target employee: “You looking for something?” Me: (gesturing towards David and Ollie) “Oh yeah, we just lost his socks.” Target employee: (pauses for an awkward amount of time) “Oh….I didn’t see the baby.”
- I just couldn’t cut it in a group yoga class. Even when I’m just doing yoga with David in our living room I can’t help but burst into laughter. And once I start laughing, there is no stopping me.
- Actual quote from David this weekend: “Do you even need to wash tablecloths?”
- Like I said, there’s been a whole lot of sad in the news lately. To be honest, I often find myself growing apathetic towards the world outside of myself due to my own selfishness. And this talk right here, was one of the best and most challenging things I’ve ever heard concerning it.
Excited to share more this week from this chilly engagement session!
