God brought them both to Floyd, Virginia. At separate times. Through separate callings. They went to the same college, but God brought them 40 minutes away, to an even smaller town to start their sweet love story. Cory and Beth work in the same school. And neither of them thought they’d end up in Floyd, and especially didn’t think that they’d meet their future spouse there! Cory spotted Beth and wanted to find out more about her. Beth was wary at first. Eventually they went out and Cory pursued her for something further…and Beth said no. Beth said no every day for two weeks! But Cory was persistent. And Beth’s heart was softened time after time to see that this was the man for her. He wasn’t what she ever thought she needed, but the Lord has a great way of giving you exactly what you didn’t expect…and it being absolutely wonderful.
Beth is one of the most joyful people I know. Genuinely joyful! And for her to have found her match in Cory is so incredible! When they pulled up to their engagement session in Cory’s truck Beth just let out a loud scream of happiness and excitement! And Cory just laughed and screamed a little too. I think he might be used to the joy :] These two are just so sweet together. It’s a contagious kind of happy. They’re either laughing as Cory pulls Beth in with an arm around her waist or Cory’s giving Beth that special smile that’s only reserved for her. You can tell that they just fit. Beth lights up in Cory’s presence. It’s no wonder that when Cory proposed to her in the middle of a snowstorm this winter, Beth’s only reply could be an excited YES!
I’ve known Beth since the middle of college. We got to walk through a lot of life together and I can’t express how wonderful it is to see her thriving as she loves Jesus and loves Cory. We’ve both gotten to see the Lord change each other and it’s been good, good, good. I’m still just over the moon excited that this season of life has come! I can still remember sitting on our small group leader’s couches senior year, just wondering and stressing over what God had for us. He is good and He is good to us. Also, Beth has been the sweetest supporter of my business from the very beginning! She’s been telling me I’m going to shoot her wedding since college! Long before I had earned that promise and long before Cory was in the picture! I just love her :]
Here’s some highlights from our time together at Sinkland Farms, their wedding venue!
See what I mean?! She lights up!
All the excitement!
The light was so dreamy that day!
Love this <3
Beth. You are just beautiful.
All the heart eyes for these two.
And as a bonus… did I mention that the donkeys came out to play at our session? So much fun!
