Our “little” guy is now 13 months old and I’m just getting to sharing his 11-12 month progress. He is already a completely different baby (kid) than in these images! Months 11-12 were game changers for us. He started saying words on purpose. He took his first steps the day before his first birthday! He wanted to have all the milestones at the same time I guess :] He’s still the sweetest little boy. He makes friends everywhere he goes. We’re still trying to hide secret smirks when strangers and acquaintances exclaim “He smiled at ME!” or “IIIIII made him laugh!” That’s just the kind of kid he is. Unless something’s seriously wrong…he’s just happy. He brings us joy constantly and we’re so grateful for it!
We did a lot of celebrating for his birthday and he loved most of it. He got to have his first taste of ice cream and cake annnnd I think it’s safe to say he’s a fan. He developed a crazy love for Chipotle and he still loves the pool and the bath. He jokes around with us now! He knows how to play hide and seek. He knows when he’s doing something funny and he’ll look at us with a knowing twinkle in his eyes until we start to laugh. He also finally likes books! He’ll bring up them and crawl into our laps so we can read to him…but he is way more into turning pages than he is listening.
Our updates are going to look wildly different now, because as of a month ago, he’s abandoned crawling. It’s all about walking now and he wants to go everywhere possible. If we set him down anywhere, then it’s time to explore! Church, outside, opening the baby proof gate that keeps him in our playroom/living room…you name it, he’ll adventure all over it. His favorite and most commonly used word is “dog” and even more specifically “bad dog.” (which sounds more like dad….dag!) He said “momma” knowingly for the first time when I came in the door from Cru one night. It was just perfect :] But I will say that his papa is actually his best friend. He’s also off formula! (praise God!) We’re all about whole milk and lots of table food now and he loves it. I honestly think he could eat constantly. He generally forces us to feed him though. He’s like a little prince, always waiting to be served.
Also, I’m quite sad to report that Ollie has lost a lot of his chub. He’s pretty lean except for his classic toddler belly that sticks out as he waddles around.
Here’s his 11-12 month update! Just wait until you see his month to month progression! The next update will be way sooner because this one was so behind :]
Here’s month 11!
He fights being tickled now and it’s so cute!
As you may be able to tell…he’s not a fan of sitting still.
These crack me up!
Favorite!
Here’s him on his actual birthday!
He had a small amount of patience that day. He just wanted to play!
Standing on his own and SO proud!
And yes…Ollie fully embrace that it was his party and he could cry if he wanted to. And he did. So our month to month progression went great…until month 12.
That last one is always going to make me laugh!
