This was one of those weekends that makes Mondays extra hard. Harder to wake up, easier to press the snooze button 3-4 times, and way easier to drag in the middle of the afternoon. This weekend was just full of the good things, and I so appreciated it.
It was also super full of sessions and Easter pictures, so excuse me as I sprinkle some fun previews throughout this post :]
Like I mentioned last week, April is HECTIC! It’s springtime which means I’ve got my camera out a lot more and it’s the end of the college year so we’re cramming in all the time with the students before they leave. These few weeks never feel quite as restful as you’d like them to be, but when your jobs are so fun, it’s kind of hard to complain! “Busy” for us this last week looked like me spending some time with industry friends by traveling to Salem for our monthly Tuesdays Together meetup. Also meeting with a sweet client and her mom which was super exciting! I rarely get to see clients in between their engagement session and the wedding so this was such a treat! It also meant fitting in a senior session and a surprise engagement session! I don’t normally shoot senior sessions or do esessions for couples who I’m not shooting their wedding day, but when they’re your college students…sometimes you gotta rearrange some things around :] Karleigh (pictured below) was a blast to photograph, we laughed so much! And Greg and Grace (pictured above) are just so sweet together. We won’t get to be there on their wedding day, so getting to fit this session in was such a nice surprise. They’ve been doing the long distance thing and Greg surprised her this weekend!
Outside of that, we had David’s mom come into town for a visit and did some Roanoke exploring. We spent time at a cookout celebrating a dear friend. And, of course, celebrated Easter. We had a little extra Gospel infused into our week and loved getting to spend more time focused on Jesus’ great sacrifice for us and how we get to partake in that joy and promise right now. So yeah, really really good weekend. Making today extra hard. But this week is full of a lot of the same :] So that’s a big bright side!
(isn’t karleigh so gorgeous and cool?)
Now for some extra feels:
Really, really. These boys are my favorite boys. Thankful x100000 for my life with them. (also Ollie started holding hands this weekend and it makes my heart hurt in a good way.
