April has been the longest month of all time! I’m having trouble believing that Easter was just last week.

I am a planner girl. Specifically an Emily Ley Simplified Planner girl. So yes, I’m one of those people who uses washi tape on my monthly calendar. I can generally tell how busy I’ve been/am going to be by seeing how colorful my month at a glance calendar is…and these last two weeks? It’s been a world of color every day! Wedding season is gearing up and school is finishing out. It’s a perfect storm of lovely things.

Like for example engagement sessions :] Spring brings out all the happy weather and blooms. Although, it’s been raining here for about 4 days straight.

So this week. This week feels so long! David and I keep forgetting what day it is because of the weird way our time seems to be moving lately. We got to have a date night and it was fabulous and so needed. For us, it can be hard to remember that we need alone time together because we spend SO much time together. It’s easy to think that going out with Ollie is sufficient, but our date was a good reminder that quality time does not equal sitting side by side with laptops in our laps and communicating about my inbox :] Thankfully, our date didn’t consist of any of those things 😉 We snuck in a little bit of a secret/last minute session this weekend as well. It was a little rainy, but we embraced it for the sake of awesomeness! We also had some extra time with our college students. David went on a rainy campout and I led a women’s time on redemption. I’m going to share more on the blog this week, but I LOVED how it turned out. I took some portraits of the women and one of my faves is below.

This is my friend Lea and I’ve been meeting with her for two years now and she’s graduating and it’s sad :/ But also happy and celebrate-y!

Welp, now that I’ve rambled, time for some feels :]

• Sometimes I make notes in my phone throughout the week to give me ideas for Monday feels. This week, all it said was “camp rock 2 ringtone.” But yeah, I guess 5 days ago me really wanted you to know that I once had a song from Camp Rock 2 as my ringtone. (as a 21 year old)
• David and I checked out Champloo in Salem on our date night and we’re OBSESSED! It’s ice cream that they make and then roll right in front of you. We got a seat right in front of the spot they make the ice cream while we waited and we just watched with awe.
• I got pulled over on Thursday night on my way back from a worship concert on campus because one of my headlights is out. And I’m pretty sure I only got off with a warning because my coworker knows all the cops in town. He asked if I was with Cru and then told me to tell my friend Chase that he’d given me a hard time. All the praise hands for that! #perksoflivinginasmalltown
• I had an actual traumatic event on Friday night. Ollie vomited right before bed. An absolutely comical amount. My clothes were soaked…he was soaked…and so was a good bit of our living room. He went straight into the bath and I spent most of the weekend trying to figure out how to properly wash Ikea couch covers. Thank goodness my friend Krysta was there to help!
• Despite all this, I still wondered if I could ever get him to cuddle with me as I sat on the couch at midnight trying to recover from the “incident.” Oh momma feels, tell me how this works!
• I’m not a fan of rescheduling sessions, but bring on this April rain 😀 I love it and it totally makes being a cozy insider feel acceptable!
