Happy summer and happy Monday! We consider our summer to go from May-August and I don’t hate it one bit. Being on a college schedule has a lot of perks and that’s definitely one of them!
We’re totally off our school year schedule and it feels good! Especially since we’ve got a sick baby today and we got to just cuddle him and feed him smoothie and watch Moana with him when we normally would’ve had to balance a lot more things! One of the many things we love about owning our own business and working with college students is the amount of sweet time we get with our little guy. This week is going to be full of catching up with friends we haven’t gotten to see in the craziness of April and then starting our wedding season off in Northern VA!
Like I mentioned last time, last week was full of goodbyes. Seniors graduated, members of our staff team are leaving, and all the students are clearing out for the summer. My week was JAM packed. I’m not glad to say goodbye to people, but I was feeling extra tired after a week full of people and emotions and trying to not to cry. (see even when I say that I know that it sounds ridiculous! I love my jobs a whole lot!) I got to do one last senior session for a girl I’ve been meeting with for 2.5 years and an awesome engagement session! David and I got to spend time at Claytor Lake for the esession and it turned out SO wonderful! I’m all swoon-y over here as I’m editing. They’re crazy cute :] We topped off the weekend by running around campus to see a bunch of people graduate and then spent yesterday with our CRU staff team. It was perfection. We boated around the lake, ate yummy food, and laughed a lot around the campfire. Joyful week, full of emotion, and now I think I’m ready for a nap :]
Ahem, I barely ever do senior sessions (which I’m sure is hard to believe after the last couple weeks on the blog), BUT goodness…every time I do one with one of my sweet girls who is graduating…it makes me want to change my mind. Example below. LOOK AT THAT LIGHT and how gorgeous is Lea?!
Feels time:
For real, I couldn’t be more excited to show off this session later this week. It’s a new fav.
