SO much has happened since my last depth of feels! Goodness gracious, it feels like a month instead of a year. If you follow along with us on instagram, then you already know.
This past week was our New York City mini vacation/anniversary trip! And gosh, was it good. We totally lived it up and experienced life without Ollie for the first time ever! We’d only ever done one night away from him and this time…we did three nights! Eek! It was scary, but I’m so glad that we did it. We talked about him approximately half the time we were there and we kept imagining what he’d be doing if he were with us in the city. But ultimately, we were obviously grateful to have the time just with each other. We got to spend meals and walks and time without worrying about stopping to feed him or let him nap and it was so freeing! We don’t often feel the burden of parenthood as a bad thing, but having those few days with each other meant we got to experience married life without kids again and it was lovely :] I can’t wait to share more about our trip soon! (and duh we saw Hamilton and it was incredible and totally lives up to the hype)
Believe it or not, that’s not all we did this past week! We left NYC in the morning and drove straight home to pick up Ollie for a wedding! My friend Ashleigh got married and we got to attend our first wedding as guests in over two and a half years! And it was so fun. We got to enjoy the ceremony and the weather without worrying about the impending rain storm. We got to sit and enjoy dinner and catch up with some old friends. And most importantly, we got to dance! And eat ice cream and cookies! YAY! We love shooting weddings, but just getting to enjoy the day was a welcome change. We get to attend quite a few weddings this year and next and this definitely made us even more excited about it! (also: ollie’s first wedding and he did GREAT!)
Last, but definitely not least, we did a sunrise session at the Lincoln Memorial for the first time ever! I cannot believe we’d never shot in DC for our own clients before and it was wonderful. Give me all that white marble and classic atmosphere that DC provides and I’m a happy photog. Can’t wait to share more this week! Jason and Stacey are so fun :]
Now for the feels:
