Another Monday means more feels! But to be honest, I’m having a really hard time knowing what day of the week it is at this point. We’ve been bopping around and enjoying the slowness of our June, so who even knows that it’s the beginning of the week? If we hadn’t had church yesterday…I’m not sure I would’ve ever come out of my weekend hole.
Small business ownership is hard. It’s easy to feel like you’re on call 24/7 and you are solely responsible for making your clients happy (which I take super seriously). But friends, the perks just far outweigh the struggles! We’ve got a lot of freedom in our lives! This past Thursday was David’s birthday, so we took the WHOLE day off to celebrate. As we were driving to lunch, David mentioned how lucky we were to be able to do that. And I nodded…and then I reminded him that we give up most of our weekends and nights so it kinda evens out. Either way, I love the freedom this crazy life gives us. And I super LOVE how much it allows us to be with our little boy.
(who happens to be throwing tantrums and getting bruises and scraping knees constantly now. he’s just a typical little boy.)
We’ll be crazy busy come July, but right now? It’s smooth sailing. And that meant we could do lots of celebrating for David’s birthday, hanging out around the house, and of course, pool time. We (me and Ollie) love the pool and even though it’s indoors, there’s something summer-y about getting to be in the water. All this freedom also means that when Ollie decides to stay up until 3AM one night (pictured below)…I can adjust my schedule accordingly. As a sleep lover and a nap superfan, I couldn’t be more thankful for that!
Like I said, we got to celebrate David turning 29 on Thursday and it was a blast! We spent time just being together and then went out to have fun with some of our best friends. We even snagged a little mini dinner date in there thanks to my sister. Other than that, I got to do a lot of time catching up with girlfriends and just snuggling our little guy. He’s clingy right now and I can always find an upside to that 😉
Here’s to some feelings this week!
