Alright, friends. It’s BUSY season. This past week held three sessions and July coming around the corner means we’re starting up wedding season! So fun! Our life changes seasons so frequently that we often get whiplash from it all! But, thankfully, our rest time prepped us well for the crazy :]

It’s felt really good to be back behind the camera so much! And all of our travel time means I’m editing in the car and David’s even MORE of an official chauffeur. We pick playlists or podcasts and he drives and I work. It’s a good set up :] Again, we’re just the luckiest to have a toddler that travels well. I shot one anniversary session and two engagement sessions it we had the BEST time for all three. One was with some sweet friends, one was an old friend from high school, and the final one was a client that I’ve gotten to know online for months now! Yay for face to face connections and getting to be real life friends. It’s so fun to finally get to meet people when you’ve known them online for so long. Also, can we talk about the gorgeous light that’s been hanging around Virginia this past week? Yep. See below for proof. It’s been perfectly glowy with some intermittent storms :]

Besides that, we’ve basically just been at the pool with Ollie. For real. Almost every day. He just LOVES the water and has no fear about it. On Friday, we spent a solid five hours chasing him around the baby pool and keeping him from swallowing too much pool water. (seriously, even time he puts his head in, he just drinks the water. isn’t that weird?) I actually grew up swimming and life guarding so seeing him fall in love with the water has been a dream come true. We also got to celebrate a lifelong friend’s birthday last night. There’s nothing like being with people who have known you your ENTIRE life to make you feel relaxed and right at home. (and also they forgive you when you’re an hour late…thanks for nap champion Ollie)

• Today marks TWENTY years of Harry Potter and I’ve been a hardcore/obsessive/emotional fangirl for at least 18 of those years. I can’t believe how much of my life has been marked by HP! And it’s making me feel a little old to know it’s been so long.
• Have I mentioned that I’m going to be a BRIDESMAID in August?! My oldest friend is getting married
• In other nerd news, John Green (the author of the Fault in Our Stars) announced he is releasing his new book in the Fall! I’m freaking out! He’s definitely one of my favorite celebs/authors and I’m excited to be a fan this time around for the book release.
• I recently got called a millennial because I knew how to properly pay for something with a credit card at Walgreen’s. Just thought you should know.
• We finally got to shoot in Georgetown this morning and I’m so in love. I’m a big fan of open fields and SWVA mountains, but the change of pace was glorious! I’ll shoot waterside any day! And I’ll also embrace cute, color apartment buildings any day.
• Guacamole is my love language. So basically, nothing new to report.
