My work life is full of SO much pretty right now. Like seriously, so much! Meanwhile, I’m typing this from my local coffee shop while wearing leggings and a messy bun and headphones that are currently only working in one ear. Which is totally throwing me off. But hey, life of a small business owner who only dresses up on Saturdays :]

I’m becoming more and more grateful for the mountains that we live in! I totally forget how lucky we are to live in this part of the country. We’ve got rolling hills, gorgeous mountain views, annnnd lots of pretty spots by the water. It often takes a wedding day in Southwest Virginia to remind me that we really do love where we live. And did you catch that? Our wedding this past weekend was at HOME! We only have one more out of town wedding this summer and it’s this Friday! Of course, we’ll still be zipping around traveling for some vacation/fun/and business. But seriously, 4 out of our 5 remaining summer weddings are at home! I always feel weird when we’re not traveling the day before a wedding, but it’s so sweet to end the evening after a long day in our own bed and have a lazy morning the next day instead of getting back on the road. We love being in our home, that’s for sure :]

And when home looks like the picture below? Yeah, I think we’re okay settling for that view :]

We fit in lots of other things as well this week. We met up with some past clients for dinner, which reminded me how grateful we are for our clients turned friends. Seriously! We get to share this very intense, intimate season together and then it’s over! It was super fun to be able to meet up and get to know each other outside the wedding world :] We also fit in some down time with friends we hadn’t seen in awhile. And I spent some time being thankful that it is in fact David who is my husband and my friend and my teammate. He’s the best guy for the job. Most couples don’t think they could handle that much time together, but we love it. Sure, there’s challenges when you work with your spouse in your home, but I really love that we know all the ins and outs of each other’s days. Here’s to working together for as long as possible! :]

Now for some feels:

• On Saturday, a fly flew straight into my eyeball during bridal party portraits. Talk about stressful. I kept it as chill as you can when 15 people are staring at you and David pulled that sucker right off my actual eyeball. That’s marriage for you.
• Oliver is just too much for us lately. In the best way. He’s gotten more cuddly and more sweet and more hilarious all at once. (and also more rebellious, you should’ve seen him climb on the floor lamp he’s not supposed to touch and then kiss it…it’s so hard to not laugh when he’s bad)
• It’s been at least a few weeks since I mentioned the Hamilton Mixtape, right? Okay good. Because you all NEED to see this music video for the song Immigrants. I’m obsessed. It made a great song even GREATER.
• Speaking of, there’s currently a contest to win tickets to the Hamilton premiere in LA and people (and lots of celebs) are posting videos of themselves singing Hamilton. I think this one of Ed Helms aka Andy Bernard is my favorite so far. Because clearly, all Ham was missing was a banjo.
• Saturday marked 6 whole years since David proposed to me :] The story involves a Harry Potter snuggie and being a little too close to water with an engagement ring.
