I’M BACK! I took an accidental hiatus from blogging because that’s what happens when you don’t plan your content ahead of time and then you have too much fun at the beach to take a work break :]

Guys, the beach was so, so good. I’ve got a lot more to say about our vacay and rest and Ollie at the beach type of magic. But for now, the short recap is that taking a break is so vital to being able to thrive. And so is watching your toddler run through the sane and eating ice cream every single night 😉 We had such a good time getting away with my family and it was the perfect way to disappear right in the middle of busy season! Our crazy started up at the beginning of this month and it goes well into October, so all the praise hands for a beach vacation! We got a lot of joy and minimal sunburn. That’s the best case scenario, right? More of the heart breaking smiles from the bear and beachy pics on the blog in a couple days friends. Sand and salt air for the win :]

We headed back on Saturday and got back just in time to shoot a wedding on Sunday! Talk about whiplash :] Heading home from vacay is certainly easier when you’ve got something to look forward to. Between how much we love being in our little home and how much we love wedding days…we kinda had a soft place to land! Jacob and Rachael threw a super relaxed and intimate wedding day unlike any I’ve ever seen and there’s a lot of good to share from that this week as well. Like how Rachael’s dress had pockets and was so perfect for her! And how they got married on the lake at Jacob’s grandparents’ home! SO lovely.

Feels timeeeee:

• Only downside to our beach vacay was the fact that Ollie got up for at least an hour all but one night. He’d cry, snuggle with us in bed and watch Moana, and then go back to sleep. Except for the last night when he decided to get up at 3am and STAY up until we left for a six hour road trip. Come onnnnnn buddy. Don’t worry, we survived!
• I’ve converted David to the musical loving dark side. We listened to musicals up and down the coast and at one point he confessed all he wanted to do was listen to ALL the musicals. Proud wife moment right there.
• We had an EXPERIENCE in a Mcdonald’s drive thru while road-tripping. Completely wrong order, total confusion behind the window. It felt like we were in a reality show. The workers kept throwing their hands up in the air in shock! We ended up getting refunded…for a dollar more than we actually paid. As we pulled out we both had that “Is this real life?” feeling.
• I’ve been trying to be a little healthier this summer…but we all make exceptions :] The beach was 100% one of them. Ice cream every night and chips and salsa during the day!
• Has anyone else tried frozen oreos? Because they are the dang best. You’ll never go back!
• Ollie has started singing along with me and it’s the sweetest thing in the whole world. Especially when he’s cuddling and letting out high pitched harmonies.
