Excuse this Tuesday dose of feels, but oh wow. What a week! If you’ve followed along on instagram at all then you know what I’m talking about!
We headed to California 6 days ago and spent a day in Temecula followed by a day in San Diego and then took a red eye back to Virginia. If that weren’t enough, we powered through Saturday so that we could shoot a wedding in Winchester on Sunday! And then we got up at 5AM to head back for a staff meeting on Monday. What. A. Whirlwind. Goodness gracious, I think I’m still recovering! I so badly wanted to dress is something other than leggings for my first real work day at home, but alas, leggings and a sweatshirt it is. I’m needing to be comfy and cozy after jet setting and road tripping for a week! But seriously, it was so worth it. Taking a 48 hour trip to California is great no matter what, but when it’s to see your friend of 13 years get married? Even better. Flying back on the red eye was exhausting, but when it’s to make it back to photograph people like Brandon and Ellen. Worth it ten times over. (see images included!!) The 6AM road trip felt a little bit iffy, but now that we’re back in our home for a full five days, we feel pretty good about that too.
David and I are SUCH homebodies, but we love traveling. Something about us comes alive when we’re exploring a new city! There’s so much diversity and culture and options that we just don’t have in our little town. We love where we live, but traveling to places like NYC and San Diego get us dreaming a little bit :] Also as much as we love time with our little guy, there’s nothing like time with each other. Sleeping in and strolling hand in hand without a million bags and a almost 30 pound boy on our hip? Super relaxing. I’m going to blog about our little vacay this week and share the short Cali magic with you guys!
Also, can we talk about the fact that Fall has ARRIVED? It’s cold and rainy outside and I’m typing while cuddled up under a blanket and if you know me, you KNOW I’m a happy girl. Now for feels:
Having so much fun going through these images! Brandon and Ellen are so adorable!
