How do I sum up this past week? It’s always our craziest one, but our best one. Sometimes people ask us why we still live in Radford…well this past weekend is one of the reasons why. The time we spend with college students is so purposeful. We see God show up in big, stunning, incredible ways here. And no more wonderful than at Fall Retreat. It’s where everything changed for me. And it’s where I’ve seen things change for countless college students.

So all that to say, the past week that was jam packed with running numbers and making walmart runs was worth it. The late nights and the early mornings and the going-going-going from sun up to sun down (well way past) was worth it. We showed up on Friday super tired, but super excited. Nothing is as peaceful as Camp Powhatan for us. (ps it’s also where we met!)

Keeping it short today, but adding in some feels :]

• Okay so I did neglect to mention that we got a date night in this week before the madness. And it was SO wonderful. We did one of our tried and true faves…apps at Outback and then we headed out to an escape room on a whim.
• Guys, we were BAD at the escape room. They carried us through with hints. I did take comfort in the fact that we failed with 2 of us in a room that needs more people to succeed…but still. We were a little ashamed of our performance, but now super excited to go back with our friends!
• Also nothing tests your team work like an escape room. We still loved each other after so that’s a good sign :]
• Being away from Ollie and with the college students makes us stay up SO late. I feel like I got about 4 hours of sleep each night, but somehow still felt SO energized. Well except for at 2am on Saturday night when I starting falling asleep on someone’s shoulder.
• I’m not a big outdoor person…and my wardrobe shows it. This was my 3rd year wearing the SAME pair of combat boots into the woods. Any shoe recs for me, friends?
