Chad and Katie met at a party at JMU and the rest was history. Well the rest was history after that first date in which they went on a run together! Talk about impressive :] They’ve got that sweetness that comes along with a college love story. They got to fall in love walking to class together and sitting in the dining halls. Spending weekends by each other’s side and missing each other only on those long summer breaks a part. They’ve been together seven years, so they’ve gotten to grow up in front of each other and alongside each other. What a joy to met your future husband or wife at age 19 and watch them grow into the person you’ll spend your whole life with!

Chad orchestrated the most beautiful and surprising proposal. Katie planned a trip for her friends on her parent’s sailboat and had no idea that Chad had been planning to commandeer this trip the whole time! He waited and waited to ask her dad and finally had a chance to get him alone and then it was go time! Chad surprised Katie on that sailboat because he wanted to be able to say just how much he loved her and was proud of her in front of her family and friends. As Katie looked around in shock, she saw her loved one’s excited eyes peeking out from behind their phones. They were all recording the entire thing!

Katie just raved about Chad over the phone to me! She loves how kind he is and the way that he is such a gentleman. When she relayed her proposal story to me, my jaw dropped! And you can see that he feels the same way about her. They’re genuinely kind, genuine people and they thrive when they’re side by side. Katie’s eyes light up when they connect with Chad’s and he’s got such a peace in his own when he holds her close. We loved getting to finally meet these two in person. The laughs were plenty, the light was absolutely gorgeous and so was the weather! If you add in the fact that we like all the same TV shows AND they’re Harry Potter fans? Match made in heaven. I can’t believe we have to wait until September to do it all over again!
