Luke remembers feeling like he was in a movie. He was at the annual bonfire at Cru’s fall retreat, and Sierra seemed to be just out of reach. He was trying to part through the crowds to talk to her, but he kept getting stopped by people! But when he finally made it over? Great conversation accompanied by a warm fire. From Sierra’s perspective, it was about time Luke talked to her! They’d been in the same community for too long to have not had a conversation! But Luke felt like he had to work up some boldness before they talked :] Shortly after, he asked her on a date. And at the end of each date, after tacking on hours and hours of more good conversation, he’d ask her out again. At one point they even stayed up through the night just talking! And let’s not forget the time they came back from a date to a house full of their friends, waiting to hear how it went. They’ve been together ever since!
Through ups and downs of life, a good bit of long distance, and transitioning out of college, they’ve chosen each other again and again. And Luke made that crystal clear when he set up a scavenger hunt full of promises to tell Sierra just how much he cherished her. It ended with him down on one knee, in the very same spot Sierra said I love you, promising he’d love her forever. We did their engagement session at the same place they’ll be getting married. There was a sweetness in walking around the farm, watching them make each other laugh, knowing they’d be doing the same thing in 4 months. These two are gold together. I love seeing how happy they make each other!
I’ve known Luke and Sierra separately for some time now, and their session was the first time I got to see them together! It was super sweet to know bits and pieces of what the Lord has done in their lives separately, and has continued to magnify in their time together! So much love for these two, and their adorable session in Covington, Virginia!
