Shadow Creek was quiet the morning of the wedding…that is until Tara and her girls walked in 🙂 Once they filled the bridal suite the building was all laughter and inside jokes and excitement. The conversation turned nostalgic as Tara recounted the moment she knew she’d marry Dagoberto. She burst into laughter remembering that it was only a week into them dating! As her sister said in her toast, Dag had turned her sensible sister into a girl who confessed her affection so confidently and quickly 🙂 The morning was a sweet countdown to the first look, the girls smiling wide as Tara stepped into her dress and became a bride right before their eyes. When I asked Dagoberto if he was ready to see his bride, he just nodded fervently. When they saw each other, they each visibly relaxed. That’s the thing about the two of them, you can tell they’re at home side by side. It was frigid and windy outside, but they were grateful to spend time in each other’s arms.
Their ceremony was beautiful and it was all about Jesus. Their commitment to each other is a reflection of the Gospel and they wanted to make sure that was what came through in their ceremony. Once the sweetest personal vows were exchanged, they were pronounced husband and wife! But they had to wait to be pronounced in Spanish before they could seal it with a kiss! :] Tara was overwhelmed with tears as soon as they made their way back down the aisle and Dagoberto just sweetly smiled and held her close. After all this time, finally married. From the way they interacted with their guests all evening to the toasts shared, the day was such a testimony to who Dagoberto and Tara are together: kind, sacrificial, joyful, and meant to be together.
It was such a joy to be a part of Dag & Tara’s wedding day! We always feel such a special connection to the couples who met in a similar way to us and fell in love in the midst of the same type of community. It was a privilege to get to be in those intimate moments with them and we’re wishing them ALL the warmth in Hawaii this week :] Hope you enjoy their wedding day at Shadow Creek!
