Friends, I’m totally settling in to this new normal of not being swamped :] And the new normal of having David at home more! David was teaching a couple classes last semester, but this semester, his schedule is a little more open! He’s home with Ollie a lot more which means he’s home with me a lot more too :] I’ve got someone to work next to/in the proximity of again! At least during nap time 😉

Don’t get me wrong, we still have our hands full with our little crazy guy. Evidence below.

But for real, what did we do with our time before we had him? We often wonder…

Anyways! We celebrated having the week of by having my bestie come into town! We’ve known each other since freshman year of high school, so we’ve racked up quite a few years of friendship :] She’s just the most refreshing person to be around! We did normal things, but because they were with her, they were extra fun. Getting a pedicure, seeing a movie, driving, getting ice cream…yeah, they’re just even more fun when you’re with your favorite people! And now I’m missing her a little extra and Ollie is treasuring his picture he took with her because he found a new BFF too.

We got another snow day for the Superbowl yesterday and spent it feeling extra cozy and extra lazy 😉 Follow that up with the Superbowl party with the college students and Waffle House brunch this morning and we’re feeling extra relaxed. It’s been a real good week and we’re looking forward to the next two weeks before we have a TWO YEAR OLD! EEK!

Feels time:

• Ollie has fallen in love with my Instax camera! He picks it up, tries to squint through the view finder, and then says “CHIA!” Aka “cheese!” I’m not even totally sure where he learned to say “cheese,” but he thinks it’s necessary for his smile to come out. He especially loves when the picture is of HIM and he can hold it. Now if I could only get him to stop touching it while it develops….
• My BFF and I saw the Greatest Showman (for me again). And once again, it’s the soundtrack to my life. I can’t stop. And I won’t stop.
• Another thing I can’t stop? GOING TO CREATIVE AT HEART. I love this conference SO much. Can it be November already? (not really, but i am super excited about returning for my FOURTH round)
• I managed to lose my coat this week. Yeah, my actual COAT! That’s what happens when you don’t typically think it’s as cold as it is I guess? (but really, if anyone finds a grey peacoat..let me know)
• Some planning I’m doing for friends’ weddings has me on airbnb OFTEN. Annnnnd I don’t hate it. But it does make me want to have exposed brick in our home.
