It was a beautiful day in Covington, VA. The weather had called for sleet, but it was replaced by gorgeous sun and just enough chill to keep you awake. We’d been at the same spot for their engagement session, just months earlier, waking around the venue with Luke and Sierra, anticipating what everything would look like come Spring. Sierra was calm and just so ready to see her groom. She shared how hard it had been to not gush all of the details of her dress to him, because he was truly her best friend, there’s no one else she’d rather tell! Sierra transformed as she stepped into her dress. She’s always gorgeous, but something about the dress and the classic red lip and the anticipation of marrying Luke amped it up x100! Her mama shed a few tears as she watched her meemaw button her up. And then all too quickly, it was time to meet him. His jaw dropped when he saw her! They both went to wide open mouth smiles and then to hugs and then to more smiles and then to some tears. Because it was just unbelievable that they were finally here!
All their favorite people gathered under a bare tree by the pond and Luke and Sierra laughed and cried their way through the ceremony. They took turns saying handwritten vows, promising to love even when it’s hard, to point to Jesus in the midst of it all, and to care for each other unconditionally. They vowed to have a life of fun, adventure, and growth. And then suddenly, with Luke very adorably gripping Sierra’s hands extra tight, they were pronounced husband and wife! Everything changed in an instant :] They walked back down the aisle, married! It seemed like they were both in disbelief all day! The perfect Spring day, finally married, all of their friends and family in one place…was this even real? Luke and Sierra are the best of friends and that’s the sweetest thing about them. They’re both so truly thrilled to spend their lives together! They spent the evening in conversation with their people and ran off into the sparkler filled night, so ready for some uninterrupted time in Cancun with their best friend.
We had the BEST time with these two on their wedding day. Their bridal party was two people deep, so we got be honorary bridal party even more than usual :] We had the privilege of seeing the emotional moments, the laughter, and all of the joy up close and it was so, so fun. I legitimately had to massage my face after their first look because I’d been smiling so hard! We’ve known Luke and Sierra for some time now and seeing them on their wedding day was our favorite time with them yet :] Everything pulled together perfectly and I’ve been counting down to get to share their wedding day!
