Marshall and Aiyana have that classic college love story. Met through mutual friends, waited and waited for the timing to be right, and then somewhere in the midst of it all, Marshall friendzoned Aiyana in an airport :] He met her between flights to catch up and insisted he’d do the same for any “friend.” He shakes his head and smiles and looks a little remorseful when he tells this part of the story now! Thankfully, it ended up working out :] Together, they’ve gotten to adventure and become more like Jesus and fall more in love with each other. And eventually, it led to a proposal in Heritage Park. One in which the cops showed up to investigate the scene Marshall had set up…but thankfully, they had a soft spot for love and let him continue with his grand plan. In the middle of a room illuminated only by candlelight, Aiyana got to say yes to the man made for her!

I wish every single one of you could hear the way Marshall gushes over Aiyana. I wish you could hear Aiyana’s sweet little laugh when he does just that. I wish you could spend a little time in their presence, because to be in their presence is to know what active love looks like. To know what pursuit and kindness looks like. You just have to leave your time with them feeling a little bit lighter and like the world looks a little more colorful. They’re just that kind of couple. You see such a pure picture of joy when they are together. We spent our entire session smiling ear to ear. Halfway through the session, Aiyana relayed that Marshall had said how much fun he was having. When I took a few photos of Aiyana on her own, Marshall just exclaimed how beautiful she is. They took me to a little nook in Carvin’s Cove that they’d had a picnic at in the past…and then did some swing dancing in the setting sunlight.

Clearly, I’m obsessed with these two. Thankful is an understatement. Maybe it’s the fact that they have a Cru love story just like us, or the fact that their joy is contagious. Whatever it is, it is SWEET news that we only have to wait until May 6th for their wedding day. Hope you enjoy their session! It’s a new fave! Especially the last set of images
