Triple J Farms was already full of energy hours before the wedding. Flowers being perfected, centerpieces being adjusted, the final pieces of Marshall and Aiyana’s vision coming into place. Aiyana was sitting at the desk upstairs, hand writing her vows that she and Marshall had crafted together. There was a peaceful excitement in the bridal suite, one that comes from the certainty that your cherished friend or daughter is marrying the man who was absolutely made for her. Marshall was already a little teary when we headed to the first look, but nothing compared to his reaction when he saw his bride. He looks at Aiyana like she’s the only other person in the universe. You can see exactly how much he loves her when you look at his eyes. And their wedding day was no different. He’s enamored with her. Aiyana smiled sweetly and shed a few tears seeing once again, how very loved she is. They twirled and laughing and skipped and smiled like crazy because they were getting married SO soon.
When ceremony time came, Marshall stood waiting for his girl, holding back tears. Aiyana walked down the aisle beaming, with Marshall looking like he wanted to run to the end of the aisle to meet her there. They promised to love and serve Jesus and each other. To rejoice in good times and in bad together. They shared communion as their first act of marriage. And then they sealed it with a kiss and literally skipped down the aisle and off into the field. It might be the most excited I’ve ever seen a bride and groom! They just couldn’t believe they were married! They were finally Mr and Mrs Gray! Marshall kissed her for the millioneth time exclaiming, “It’s even better to kiss her now!” Shortly after, he surprised her with a foot washing. A promise from scripture to love and serve and lay his life down. The sweetest way to begin their marriage. The whole evening felt like a dream. All their favorite people eating and laughing and dancing together. It felt like the day went by in a few seconds. All of the sudden their taillights were fading into the night, sparklers still ablaze in their rearview mirror. It was the best day.
Marshall and Aiyana, we are so thankful to know you two. It was a true honor to capture your wedding day and we’re wishing we could do it all over again! Your love for Jesus and each other is so refreshing and inspiring! We can’t wait to see what God has for you in Maryland! (but also sad you’re moving, because we’d like to be real life friends :])
