Dennis and Emily had been waiting so, so long for their wedding day to arrive. Dennis was smiling like crazy at every moment. And Emily had a fresh set of tears well up in her eyes with every sweet moment. Mostly, I was struck by their gratefulness. That the day had finally come. That the celebration they planned had come to fruition. They got married right outside of Indianapolis, bringing in friends and family from all over the country. Emily was just so overwhelmed at how many people would come from so far to celebrate their marriage.  But honestly, if you know Dennis and Emily, then it’s not a surprise. They’re genuinely kind people who make the people around them feel loved and celebrated. Their love is infectious. The kind that you want to be around because they are able to be so purely themselves around each other. They’re a little brighter because they’re in each other’s lives and I think their little corner of the world is a little brighter too. So no wonder dozens of people would travel to be present with them on their very best day!

It was a day full of family and sentimental moments. Shortly before the ceremony, Emily was teary again when she saw her dad for the first time. He told her how very proud he was of the woman she’d become. Dennis’s grandpa, Opa, was his best man and he called Emily his little sweetheart and told anyone he ran into just how thankful he was that she was joining their family. Everyone present was in total agreement that Dennis and Emily were long overdue as husband and wife. Dennis teared up as Emily walked down the aisle towards him. The rain started to fall, so the ceremony was a little rushed and a lot exciting. The sky didn’t quite bottom out until Dennis and Emily kissed, and then the rain poured down as they ran back up the aisle! It was beautiful! The rest of the night held sweet toasts and dances and the most gorgeous Indiana sunset. The atmosphere was joyful and fun and contagious because of the generous, lovely couple who were being celebrated!

This will always be a wedding day that I treasure. Emily is so special to me and I’ve known her for so many years now. I’m so proud of who she is and thrilled that she found Dennis. Getting to see all the intimate moments of her wedding day was just a dream. It was a blessing to see all the little pieces of her life together in one place. Dennis and Emily, we love you guys! Thankful we get to see you again soon as husband and wife!!

Her momma designed that necklace! It holds her dad’s wedding band, her momma’s engagement stone, and a birth stone from her grandma!
