It had been six years full of adventures and nights out in Blacksburg and brunches and life together, but still, their wedding day was something special. Stephen and Leaona both had relaxed mornings getting ready, simply continuing the amazing weekend they were already having with their favorite people! They both feverishly wrote their vows before the first look, promising more adventures, more hot sauce, and more life. Steven was blown away during the first look, not able to stop smiling when he saw his bride! It was the sweetest moment. Soon, they were surrounded by their friends again, laughing and walking around the campus where they fell in love. Right across the drill field, up to war memorial chapel, where they’d be married. There was something so special about seeing them get married in the place where they hold so many favorite memories. The drill field was the backdrop, there was hokie stone everywhere in sight, and the reception was just a quick stroll to Owen’s banquet hall. After some fun vows in the August sun, it was reception time!
And let me tell you, the reception was a party! Steven and Leaona are people who bring the party with them. They’re always ready to go out on the dance floor and always inspiring other people to have the best time ever. The toasts spoke to how fun and joyful they are – they find the light in life and everyone around them benefits from their perspective. Their cherished friends and family toasted with such sincerity and it was clear that everyone there was just grateful to know them. And the dance floor was packed all night long! From classics like “Shout!” to some Cardi B it was full and so much fun! The reception ended with everyone taking turns singing Journey into the microphone and Steven inviting everyone out downtown! There was no way the party was ending there!
This wedding day passed in the blink of an eye! It was nonstop laughs the entire time! David and I were shocked when the night was over because it felt like it had just begun. Between the sweetness of a campus wedding and the way that every guest was thrilled to be there, we’d love to do it all over again! And Steven and Leaona, we just love you guys. Thanks for planning a perfect day and allowing us to be a part of it! We’re so thankful that we’ll still be running into you in the NRV :]
