Meghan went on their first date with no intentions of staying for dinner. She was in for coffee…but a whole extended evening including dinner? Nope, she’d just skip out early. But somehow Ryan charmed her enough that she decided to stay! Without eating her dinner, of course. Ryan laughed as he told the story to us, the one about a completely untouched meal that he had paid for! And the way that Meghan jumped away from him as he tried to say good night. Not too long later, he visited her at work, catching Meghan totally off guard, and then told her directly afterwards just how awkward she was being. In the kindest way, of course. They’re perfect for each other in that way. Where Meghan is hesitant, Ryan is sure and patient. Where Meghan loves to celebrate and give in to joy at every turn, Ryan follows her lead. They balance each other out in the sweetest way that makes you know that you know they should be together.
Ryan planned his proposal carefully. A special trip, a photographer ready to document, an adventure to a light house. He hid everything so well, but still, Meghan was tipped off by one little thing. She loves surprises, and she took the hint and ran with it. Ryan proposed in front of the lighthouse just as planned – and Meghan, even though she’d figured it out, said yes! He followed it up with a surprise engagement party with all of their favorite people…and if you know Meghan…you know it’s exactly what she would’ve wanted. I’ve known Meghan for 13 or 14 years now and oh how wonderful it is to see her with Ryan! He’s exactly what she’s been waiting for and also what she never would’ve expected. Getting to spend their engagement session strolling through a freshly Fall Radford, reminiscing on what got them together and all that had led them to that point, was a dream come true. They bring out each others’ truest smiles, biggest laughs, and most comfortable selves. And it doesn’t hurt that there’s rarely a time when they aren’t laughing or being goofy. It’s the best!
Meghan, goodness gracious do I love you, friend! What an honor that you’d ask us to be a part of your wedding!! You and Ryan are just so fun together and we know your day is going to be the biggest celebration! Can’t wait to tell your story! (okay also…meghan and I did photo together in college and one time I made her model for me and WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT we did her esession 8 years later in the same spot….except instead of a melodramatic narrative that I made up to be artistic…it was with her real love and a very happy ending :] thanks for letting me redeem myself Meghan :])
