The Patrick Henry was bustling with activity when we arrived. Andrew and Amory’s wedding day had finally happening! Sweet Amory was doing all that she could do to keep her hands occupied, only totally stopping to sit in the make up chair. All of her excitement came out in staying busy until it was time to put the dress on! Once she was in her dress, she took a moment to open a gift from Andrew. And that’s when the tears started. As she let her eyes pour over the keepsakes that Andrew had framed, her eyes welled up. She looked at me when I inquired what it was and she said softly, “It’s everything.” Receipts from dates dating back to 2015, pictures from the very beginning…it was the perfect way to lead into the ceremony. A gesture that showed just how much he loves her.
The ceremony was full of tears and then laughter! Tears when Amory walked down the aisle to her almost husband. A small wink from Andrew to his bride. And then laughter during the sand ceremony, laughter as the groomsmen pretended to forget the ring, and laughter as they promised “for the rest of their lives.” They laughed their way into being proclaimed husband and wife and walked into their marriage with the biggest smiles. The rest of the evening was a blur of heartfelt toasts and dancing with their loved ones. The Patrick Henry ballroom held all of their favorite people, together for just that one night. The day passed in the blink of an eye and soon enough, they were walking through sparklers and headed off on their honeymoon. Husband and wife after all this time!
What a privilege to be a part of this day! We’ve known Amory for awhile now, and to see her as a bride was so lovely. You couldn’t find a kinder person than Amory and seeing her so full of joy and so content becoming a wife was the best! Andrew and Amory, you guys are sure to have a fun and exciting adventure in marriage! Thanks for inviting us into your day!
