They met at a conference. Zach was immediately drawn to Sarah, while Sarah payed him very little attention. But even so, Zach formed a friendship with her over a mutual love of climbing, Jesus, and reaching the world with the Gospel. It was clear soon after that this was their forever.
Not even a year later, Zach convinced Sarah it was a day for climbing. Sarah was suspicious of how enthusiastic he was about this plan, but she went along with it. She completed her climb and found a box and a note with her name on it at the top of the wall. In all of the excitement she promptly dropped the box. Thankfully Zach was there to snatch up the box, drop to one knee, and ask her to marry him. Best surprise ever! They had only a few months to plan their wedding and soon enough, it was August 24th – their wedding day!
Zach’s eyes lit up when it was time for the first look and when he turned to see Sarah, his smile only grew wider. His hand rested on her cheek, cherishing his sweet bride, a look of disbelief on his face. Sarah whispered to him, they laughed back and forth. A moment of contentment – a moment of finally. Their ceremony was a celebration of who God says He is and how He loves them and how they will try to love each other in that same sacrificial, beautiful way.
Zach and Sarah have never gotten to officially live in the same town, same city…even the same state! But now? They’re together! Praise God. Here’s to a lifetime of loving and serving Him and enjoying each other in all the big and small moments.
