Everything was so calm at the Country Club of Fairfax on the day of Luke and Brenda’s wedding. A cold wind whipped through the air that kept everyone alert and expectant, and Brenda spent the morning laughing and laughing with her best friends – waiting for the moment she’d get to go meet Luke. Once she stepped into her dress and Luke tied up his bow tie, they each read letters from each other, letters that promised to have and to hold, but also promised fun and dance parties and chocolate and commitment even when life would inevitably get hard. Brenda walked out into the bright sunlight to meet her best friend and they both immediately folded into a hug. Both with tears welling up in their eyes, Brenda squeezing Luke as tight as she could. Luke holding Brenda tenderly.
From that point on, time flew. Soon enough, they were walking down the aisle. Luke’s eyes filled with tears, Brenda looking sure as ever. It’d been years and years of day in and day out love that had led them to that moment and it was finally here. They were pronounced husband and wife with a charge to love Jesus for a lifetime together. The energy around them was one of giddy excitement for the rest of the night. Every single guest was so enamored with them. They’re just those kind of people that other people gravitate towards. You could tell that Luke and Brenda, both individually and as a couple, meant so much to everyone in attendance. The toasts and the packed dance floor spoke to this as well! As Brenda’s dad said, these two both bring a little magic wherever they go and they share that light with everyone they love.
All week I’ve been thinking about how THANKFUL I am this wedding happened right before the craziness that is our current state of affairs hit! Luke and Brenda’s wedding is probably the last big event that a lot of the people there will be at for a good while! What a wonderful day from start to finish! Luke and Brenda, we just love you guys! We’re so thankful that we were a part of your celebration! Hope you’re loving this time as newlyweds!
