Thank goodness for Virginia Tech and thank goodness for Peddrew-Yates Hall! Without them both, Matt and Caroline probably wouldn’t be together today! Matt caught Caroline’s eye early on in the semester and as college freshman always do, they both formed a quick group of friends based on proximity. Caroline found all the reasons that she could to walk by Matt’s room, to invite him to the study lounge, even to ask for help in Bio! And eventually, Matt told her how much he liked her and she responded with a “You’re great!” :] Somehow, amidst the freshman year feelings and watching late night infomercials and Spongebob, Matt and Caroline started dating! They share memories of studying in the dorms, getting lunch on campus, and falling in love while they were growing up into adulthood.
Years later, Matt was on a mission to ask Caroline to be his wife. Their plans for the day kept getting delayed or cancelled or altered and the ring box was just getting heavier and heavier in Matt’s pocket. Eventually it became clear that he was going to have to propose at the same place that it all started for them – on VT’s campus. In front of Burruss Hall, he got down on one knee and Caroline said yes! Now they’re getting married and get to look forward to a life together – full of brunch and laughter, I’m sure :]
I cannot explain the joy that came along with time with Caroline and Matt! They’re both so welcoming and kind and fun that 3 hours went by in the blink of an eye. We’re so ecstatic for their 2021 celebration!
