It was a cold and rainy day in January – but quite literally nothing could dampen the joy that was present for Keith and Caroline. The bridal room was full of laughter and full of chatter in the morning. Caroline’s closest friends and family buzzed around her. And both Keith and Caroline seemed to be full of anxious and expectant energy, the kind where you can’t quite stop moving, right up until the first look. There was such palpable peace that washed over them both when they saw each other. Sure, they were out in the cold and the mist, but both of them were beaming! Their smiles only growing wider as they read each other personal vows, noting the divine similarities as they made promises to each other.
The day moved in such a blurry cloud of bliss. One moment they were at their first look, the next an emotional daddy daughter moment, the next they were walking back up the aisle…married! They entered the reception to thunderous applause and everyone nodded along as the toasters pointed out the intentional and quiet and persistent love that Keith and Caroline share for each other and those around them. It was beautiful. The dance floor was lively right up until their sparkler exit! And just like that, they were married and off to Hawaii!
Keith and Caroline’s wedding at the Middleburg Barn was the very best way to start 2021 – for everyone in attendance! They planned such a special and safe day that was sure to have everyone feeling loved and lifted up just three days into 2021. I know that their greatest hope is that their commitment would point to Jesus first and foremost and goodness was their mission accomplished. My favorite part of the day was getting to chat with them and their officiant, their pastor from overseas, as they touched on little bits of their heart for the world. What a joy and an honor to capture their wedding day!
They both quoted or alluded to the following sentiment on the day of, and it’s just so beautiful that I wanted to share it here as well. It encapsulates so much of who they seem to be together. “Within this Christian vision of marriage, here’s what it means to fall in love. It is to look at another person and get a glimpse of what God is creating, and to say, “I see who God is making you, and it excites me! I want to be part of that. I want to partner with you and God in the journey you are taking to his throne. And when we get there, I will look at your magnificence and say, ‘I always knew you could be like this. I got glimpses of it on earth, but now look at you!” – Tim Keller
