Love in the time of Corona! That’s Whit and Carmen’s beautiful story. Right before the world shut down, they were reluctantly set up on a blind date. Both a little weary of set ups and dating in general, but from the beginning, it was different. They connected during their first phone call, then even deeper on a dinner date, and then…covid hit. Shortly after their beginning, there was a need for socially distant dates 6 feet a part, for quarantining and going weeks without seeing each other. And somehow, in the midst of chaos, Carmen and Whit fell in love. Carmen, who’d always been a little fearful of love, found steadiness and comfort in Whit. And she had no choice but to dive in further!

Just several months after their beginning, when they were both ever so sure that their lives were meant to be lived together, Whit planned a proposal. He took into account all of the things that would mean the most to Carmen and he meticulously planned…just for everything to go awry! Carmen was one step ahead of every well laid plan and by the time the proposal day came, Whit was frantically calling her roommates to make sure she didn’t know. And even still, when he stopped to one knee in Chimborazo Park, Carmen couldn’t help but be surprised! Surprised that in all her ideas about relationships, this beautiful story was what the Lord had given her.

These two are truly a treasure. I felt like I could be instant best friends with them because they are so incredibly welcoming and open! And funny. Oh my goodness did we laugh! If the excitement and warmth we experienced was any indication of wedding day…it’s going to be over the top joyful and celebratory and emotional!!! I’m counting down with every bit of me until July!

I hope you enjoy their engagement session in Chimborazo Park! We had the most beautiful evening and it was even more special that we did so much of the session at their proposal spot!
