Matt and Caroline’s day was so long awaited – 7.5 years in fact! What started in the dorms at Virginia Tech was turning into something even better at the altar on Saturday. Matt and Caroline love brunch and attended many a brunch in college, so when it came to their wedding day, only brunch would do! The fog rolled in over the mountains bright and early that morning as everyone got ready for the day ahead. Just several weeks prior, they wouldn’t have been able to have their day safely, fully, no masks in sight – what luck and what joy and what perfect timing!
Their first look was indescribable. Caroline had already had emotional interactions with her mom, dad, bridesmaids, and grandpa before going to see her groom. Matt dissolved into tears before he even turned around to see Caroline. And then another round of tears when he saw the gift she had found for him. The literal and figurative sign that let her know this was forever – a sign that hung above Matt’s head at a favorite date spot that read “this is as good as it gets.” Hours later, they walked back up the aisle MARRIED and into their reception as husband and wife. The guests filled up on the best brunch ever while listening to hilarious and emotional toasts and then chit chatted the afternoon away. They ended the celebration with ice cream from Blue Cow Creamery and waked off in a storm of joyful bubbles! Best. Day. Ever.
We just love Matt and Caroline! They radiate joy and loyalty and laughter and just easiness at every turn. They’re so content with each other, and possess the kind of back and forth that comes only with lots and lots of time. It was an honor to be a part of their wedding day! We’ll be talking about it for years!

And the waterworks started and then never stopped!
This first look. I have no words.
Obsessed!
Loved this fun group!
First looks are the best! Matt had such emotional reactions both times he saw Caroline!
MARRIED!
They’re the cutest!
The very best smiles! Hooray for portraits!
I am so obsessed with this marriage advice from all of Caroline’s students!
It just doesn’t get better than brunch!
Caroline’s dad made everyone laugh so hard that they cried and then brought out the emotional stuff and everyone was crying so hard it was impossible not to laugh!
Blue Cow Ice Cream was on the scene for a refreshing treat!
Bubble exit for the win!
We snuck out for a few more portraits post exit and it was a great decision :]
Love them so much!
