The sun was beaming down over Arbor Haven on August 28th. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky and both Omer and Katelyn were so ready for what the day would hold for them in a few short hours. Katelyn gleefully got ready with her ladies, while Omer hung out with the guys. When Katelyn stepped into her gown in the window light…it was just perfection. The dress was made for her and everyone couldn’t wait to see Omer when he saw her for the first time! Soon enough, it was ceremony time and Omer’s reaction did not disappoint. Fast tears fell down his face as he watched his future wife walk down the aisle. These two have been through it all. Years upon years of long distance, deployments, military life, never living in the same location their entire relationship – but still, they’d persevered through it all and finally, it was wedding day.
The day was blissful! The joyful ceremony bled into a super fun reception! Light poured into the tent at Arbor Haven and the dance floor stayed full for hours and hours. Even when the thunder cut the power for a half second and the rain poured down outside, their people danced and danced! Military life means that they had so many out of town guests and it was really lovely to see so many people travel from so far to celebrate them. The night ended with Omer and Katelyn closing out the dance floor, two of only twenty or so people left. They headed off to their honeymoon, knowing the military would bring another goodbye again soon – but this time, they would know more than ever that their permanent home was each other.
Omer and Katelyn are so many YEARS in the making! And goodness, it must be good for them to finally call each other husband and wife. Congratulations you two!
