What happens when boy meets girl right before she goes overseas for a year? Well, apparently they get married! That’s the story of Claire and Preston. A chance encounter, eventually followed by some dates, followed by a hard decision. Do you pursue a month long relationship into extreme long distance? For Preston and Claire – absolutely. After some charming miscommunication of course! They’ve spent the majority of their relationship long distance at this point and have persevered through all of it. One night, years into everything, Preston set up a surprise to make it official. Claire was coming back from a night with her friends (amidst studying for the bar of all things) and she walked into her apartment to Preston’s elaborate set up. Pictures everywhere, the apartment painstakingly decorated, and a realization…he didn’t have a speech planned. Good thing Claire was too surprised for it to matter at all. It was a resounding yes for both of them!

I truly cannot explain how much fun these two are! I’ve known Preston’s sister for (close to) two decades now. I even got to capture her wedding! And I heard all about Claire for the first time that day – her sibling got married the same day, so outside a quick facetime, she was absent. But getting to finally see their love in person was magical! There’s an easygoing nature that’s so fun to be around, an inquisitive spirit that affirms how much they love people, and of course, there’s so much laughter. To think that they found each other by chance and waded into the murky waters of long distance nearly immediately is so insane to me. Truly, they’re made for each other, they’re magnetic to be around, and I know everyone who loves them would agree. We had the best time walking through Carvin’s Cove, swapping stories, and exploring. I can only imagine how wonderful their wedding day will be! Hope you enjoy their esession!
