At one point in David and I’s dating relationship I said to him, “Jobin, I think the Oscars are my NBA.” Now that might sounds weird. But speaking to someone like David who is obsessed with the NBA, it meant a lot. I really love the Oscars. I like seeing Old and New Hollywood come together. I get choked up at the ridiculous flashback montages and the soaring theme music played at every commercial break. And every time some one brings up their kids and thanks them and tells them to be exactly who they are…ugh I’m such a sap. But, I love it.

So some Oscar themed feels today, with some other randoms cutting in.

• I am still appalled at John Travolta’s Adele Dazeem flub when introducing Idina Menzel. 1. because Idina is a rockstar. 2. because why, why, why was Travolta up there in the first place? But I will say that the tweets that resulted are hilarious.
• Ellen has my heart. Who else would order pizza for the celebs, take a star studded selfie, and call out actual Liza Minnelli for being a Liza impersonator. Also she hashtagged “blessed.” Love it. PS: Love that Jennifer Lawrence was chowing down on her slice in the front row.
• So I DID do something other than watch the Oscars. I read an entire John Green novel yesterday. So between that and reading his tweets about the Oscars, we’re basically best friends.
• I finished up Buffy the Vampire Slayer this weekend, which was EXCELLENT…and now have promptly moved on to Veronica Mars. Late 90s/Early 2000s woman power dramas for the win!
• Oscar’s bingo is possibly the best way to watch an awards show.
