I am currently in the middle of a really ridiculous adventure. A group of my friends and I are headed down to North Carolina to help stage a beach house to be rented. So so random. We’re traveling in a fresh 1999 Chevy giantcrazy Van and just praying that we make it there. It feels like we’re in a RV. We had to stop in Winston-Salem, NC because some of us had conference calls and somehow the coffee shop we were at didn’t have wifi. Womp. So Krysta and I tried to trek through the SNOW to find another, only to realize our efforts were futile and David had to pick us up and drive us to Starbucks…which was closed. So here I sit, in a hotel lobby adjacent to the Starbucks writing to you all. Whew. Crazy adventure.
So now for why I’m really writing. Cru (the campus ministry I’m on staff with) has been focusing in on a theme for this semester at our large group meetings: “What’s Your Story?” Every week we tell the stories of people in the Bible who met Jesus and interacted with Him. Part of my role on staff is over media/videos/etc, so I’ve been working to tell the stories of students in our movement that have met and interacted with Jesus.
This is the video we showed this Wednesday; I’d loved if you’d give it a watch.
Alex’s Story from Kaitlyn Phipps on Vimeo.
Alex is actually one of the girls that I disciple, and it is such a privilege to be around her and live life with her. I’ve gotten to see her grow and change and struggle and ultimately learn to love Jesus. I love Alex’s story because it is very similar to my own. I came into college with expectations and a lot of them were wrecked when I met my friend Nicolette. We got to go on this crazy journey together that reached a height at Radford’s Fall Retreat, and my life was forever changed. Further up and further in, my friends.
So, I’d love to know…what’s your story?
