Early summer sun just brings out this gorgeousness. Everything looks hazy, you want to lay outside and watch the sun drop beneath the horizon. It makes you feel a little more in love with the people and the world around you. That’s also what it was like to spend time with Shawn and Katie.

I’ve known Katie through my friend Elizabeth for awhile now. Mostly just through stories. But I knew she was awesome and funny because my best friend is awesome and funny. So my expectations were high. And Shawn and Katie met them all. They were charming and sweet, so welcoming and fun. And most importantly, they love each other a lot. I love getting the chance to capture maturing love because it is one that endures. Two years of marriage down and they are so in love, so gentle and sweet to each other. Shawn speaks to Katie in the most tender way, and Katie’s smile in response is stunning. To be frank, their love lights up the world as they walk through it.

I’m blessed to have been able to spend time with them running around Blacksburg, laughing, and dialoguing on marriage and life. Happy anniversary you two!
