I am so thankful for 2014. I swear this is (probably) the last of my wrap up posts, especially because it is halfway through January, but GOODNESS has this year been crazy. My business grew in ways that I never ever thought it would. I got to meet people who loved deeply and wanted that captured. And I loved it.
One of the reasons I love my job and something I’m wanting to base my business off is relationships and stories. I love hearing other people’s stories. And I don’t just mean….how we met, how he proposed….I mean the real stuff. The nitty gritty how did you become the person you are today stuff. I’m that person who jumps in a little too fast to the serious stuff. I’m not so good with small talk. I often accidentally ask questions that demand real answers…and make the answerer a little uncomfortable. But that’s just WHO I AM, and I’m trying to embrace it.
I know that tangent doesn’t exactly sell me well, but it’s the truth! One of the things that I loved about my engagement sessions and portrait sessions this year is that they took place over real conversation. This business has been a wonderful opportunity to get to know people and hear stories that I never would’ve heard had it not been for photography. And that is what I want to be about. Loving on people, not just pretty images.
But pretty images are still okay right?! :] I just wanted to share a little heart. The reason I’m thankful is not because of these images, but because of the PEOPLE in them! With that being said, here are all of the wonderful people I worked with in 2014.
Here’s to more beautiful people and beautiful stories in 2015!
