Something that I oddly have an abundance of in life, is lifelong friends. Something I noticed at our wedding is that both David and I have people in our lives that we’ve known since we were little kids; we’ve got friendships that reach back decades and that is so amazing!

The family that most fits that description in my life is the Moffetts. Alex and Erica have been constants in mine and my sisters lives. Alex and I have been together since the age of 1 and Kelsey and Erica had no choice but to follow suite! They weren’t even BORN when their lifelong friendship was established. There’s nothing that binds you together for life like being in diapers together, spending summer after summer by the pool, vacationing, and putting on ridiculous Pebble and the Penguin reenactments. (We won’t get into how filming parodies has actually played a long term role in our lives.)

So clearly, the news that Erica is expecting was BIG news! And SO surreal. The four of us are bonded for life as sisters and Erica and Shane are bringing a little baby into the mix! I told Erica that it was so exciting to take images of their gender reveal because I think we’ll all be able to look back and know that this is where it all began again! We’ve got the kind of friendship that our kids are going to be around each other, and Erica is kicking that off!!! Years and years down the road, this moment will hold as special and beautiful not only to Erica and Shane, but to all four of us and to our moms! We’ve got this friendship legacy carrying on and the fact that generation number three is arriving in a few short months is SO exciting 😀

It was an absolute privilege to capture these images for Erica and her sweet man, Shane. It reminded me of why photography is such a gift. These moments will stay forever and will hold with clarity! Here’s to a brand new adventure, dear friend!
