It’s so hard to believe that we’re in this stage of life. Like real grown up, adult things happening to our friends. Real responsible life type things. For example…having babies. If you’ve been around the blog for awhile you probably remember James and Emily from their sessions the last two years. I don’t normally offer family sessions, but when it’s your close friends, it’s nice to get a toddler in front of your camera every once in a while :] Last year, I got to capture images of their brand new family, Ashlynn was just one year old at this point.

Now it’s a year later and she’s TWO! And James and Emily seem to have the hang of this parenting thing. Ashlynn’s developed into this beautiful little toddler who sprints around in different directions, distracted by all that life has to offer. And you can just tell that James and Emily are used to it by now, and that they love keeping up with her big personality. It was such a joy to be able to spend this time with them again, to see how their family has grown and how their love for each other has grown a long with it.

We spent our time together at Claytor Lake because they’ve been all about time on the water lately. From the way that Ashlynn waved at the boats to the way she snuggled her parents by the edge of the lake, it was the perfect setting! Hope you enjoy their update family session!
