Since we announced our pregnancy way back when….which feels like FOREVER AGO…people have been saying the same thing. There are going to be SO many cute pictures of your baby! He’ll be the most photographed baby ever! And between our quickly filling iPhones and my camera, Oliver’s a photog’s baby for sure. 🙂 But I knew that I wouldn’t be up to taking pictures of him in that magical 10 day window. And I knew that I wanted to hire someone amazing who would help us embrace this special season of his life. And Andrea Pesce did just that.
Oh friends. This one was a good day. 7 days post Ollie. In our home. My hair dried and straightened for the first time in over a week. Feeling peaceful for the first time since leaving the hospital. It was good. Andrea spent 3 hours with us. And for the first few weeks of his life, it was hands down our favorite time with our new little boy.
As far as I can tell, the first month or so of parenting feels like a rollercoaster. You’re sleep deprived, feeling like a crazy person, have no earthly idea what you’re doing, and there are brief moments of awe at the new, little human in your life. And those few hours to simply cuddle with our sweet baby, and worry about nothing else? They were magical. It was precious time to slow down when we truly needed it most. It was something that I looked back to as an anchor when I was feeling emotional for the next few weeks. Images can truly evoke an emotion deeper in us. They can heal. And that’s what Andrea did for us! She invited us to slow down, to just “be” with our new little family. And I’m going to cherish that forever.
And then there’s Andrea’s gorgeous work. Which I think speaks for itself. So I’m oversharing today. Here’s a little glimpse at day 7 for us and the Olliebear! (now it’s been six weeks since his birth! eek!)
He looks so different now, but he’s still got those shifty eyes!
The difference between our dogs. Layla could not care less about the baby. And Neville is sweetly obsessed with him.
All of the images of David and Ollie make my heart hurt…in a good way.
YAWN! His mint pants are getting a little snug now :]
Ugh. So sweet.
And this one just makes me laugh!
And then we went upstairs and somehow Andrea’s images make our weird home look so fancy 😉
Love that you can see the same pose from our engagement shoot framed in the background!
Because Abby Grace made me a beautiful harry Potter quilt and Andrea was nice enough to indulge my obsession 😀
<3
One of my favorites!
Annnnd we gave him his first bath!
He hated it and we had no clue what we were doing! But we survived :]
A peek at his nursery. And Neville’s favorite watch dog spot.
Eek! He’s so tiny and wrinkly! And I love this because David picks out his outfits most days and does a lot of onesie changing for me!
Favorite Ollie face! Besides his cute smile!
Haha, get used to it buddy!
SO perfect.
Only regret from our shoot…including Layla in the family photo! 😉 She looks so bored in every. single. one. This frame cracks me up though!
