Well, Monday got a late start today. Really it got an early start, because Oliver decided to wake us up a little before usual…and then the fact that we’re both sick made it feel completely justified to go back to sleep for a bit. So today, got an early, late start. And I’m fine with that :]
We’re back from vacation and fresh off shooting our first June wedding and second of eight for the summer! I love switching gears to be all about weddings for awhile and it’s fun to be back in that groove! I’ll share more later this week, but Hayley and Jason’s day was epic. They’re just the sweetest people and it didn’t even matter that it was thunder storming on and off throughout the day. I will say, sprinkling showers did make for an epic first look 😀
As you know if you follow me anywhere on social media, we were at the beach this past week! And it was so lovely. Sure, it rained quite a bit, but we got to read through whole books on the beach/porch. Annnnnd we ate lots of food. David got tan and I stayed exactly the same because I sunburn just as bad as an infant so we took it easy under a tent. Also Ollie took the road trip like a champ, so that’s a big win! We spent time with Kelsey and her boyfriend and my family! So fun and crazy. So just know, that’s where a lot of these feels are coming from :]
- I read through the book “We Were Liars” by E Lockhart at the beach and OH. MY. GOSH. I finished it and immediately wanted to restart it and needed to talk to someone about it…so I made David read it. If you’re looking for a fun summer read, look no further.
- We’ve been using an app to share pictures of Ollie with the family and I occasionally upload my snapchats of him. Which, until this week, meant that every time I shared a picture of him with a filter (usually the puppy face :]) my mom thought I was dressing him in costume!! She was wondering how I had so much time on my hands!! (this caused me to laugh for approximately one hour…hi mom!)
- I tried peanut butter and oreos for the first time this week and I’ve got to say…not impressed. Anyone out there with me? Give me a plain (double stuffed obvi) oreo any day.
- The easiest way ever to make me happy is exactly this: Jason left his first look with his new bride on Saturday and said “I’m SO glad we did a first look! It takes so much pressure off!” Guys, I think David and I high fived and our jaws dropped and we cheered. Because we’re dorks and because first looks are the best!
- While trying to decide on a hashtag for our beach vacay last week (#swagshead2k16 hah), my mom and grandma inquired about what the heck we were talking about. And then my grandma asked…if hashtags were for sex. Needless to say, we were dying. And that’s just a taste of my sassy grandma for you.
On that note, here’s some of the super fun bridal party from Saturday! Sharing more from this sweet day soon!
