Lindsey is one of those people you meet and you just want to be around even more. She’s like bottled sunshine. She’s bright and bubbly and sweet. The first time we met, we took a car ride to and from Roanoke together to a Rising Tide meeting, and we chatted the entire time. No awkward silences. We exchanged stories like old friends and it wasn’t long before she was gushing about her husband Jason. It’s always so impressive to me when people speak so highly of their spouses, unprompted. Lindsey explained how much Jason loved the Lord, how different their relationship was compared to what she’d experienced previously, and just how well he loves her.
And I could see that all that and more was true during their anniversary session last week. If Lindsey is bottled sunshine, then Jason is pure laughter. He cracks jokes and Lindsey beams, lightly taps him on the arm, and tries not to laugh too hard. It’s a sweet exchange that happened dozens of times during our time together. They’ve got that ease with one another that only comes from spending extended time in each other’s presence. Six years of marriage has brought them a best friend for life, a confidant, and an adorable coonhound :]
Lindsey’s a fellow photographer and it was SO flattering that she’d reach out to me for her anniversary portraits. And thankfully, we got the BEST light that day. A gorgeous sunny evening where the water turned teal blue, and then a fierce rainstorm for about 15 minutes that brought out a soft, hazy sunset. It was so much fun, just like Jason and Lindsey are together, and I think their portraits show it!
Hope you enjoy Carvin’s Cove with the Rickards.
Sweet puppy love :]
Definite favorite!
Look at that water!!
The prettiest evening and the prettiest girl!
And this is when it started to downpour!
But it brought out a gorgeous sunset!
Happy six years, friends!
