Happy, happy Monday, friends! I’m going to affectionately dub this Monday COUCH DAY! So that already makes it a little less Monday-y. We’ve been looking forward to couch day for several months now. We’ve wanted new couches for our living room since we got married and it’s finally happening! The ones we have now served us well and had many guest sitters, nappers, and even crawlers (aka Ollie) on them. But they’re also 20 years old and full of dog hair and it is time to go! Right now, we’re sitting on them one last time waiting for IKEA to deliver our new atmosphere.

Phew. Okay, now that I’ve got all of that couch talk out of the way… This week meant our Fall wedding season started! We’ve got six weddings (well, now five) in the next 7 weeks! And we’re excited. Very, very. It’s going to be a lot of traveling and some long nights editing here and there. But it’s all so worth it. This weekend was a wedding during a HURRICANE. Now it’s not the first time we’ve shot a wedding in extreme weather, but it was certainly just as memorable. Bob and Megan were rockstars and had great attitudes about it, so that made all the wind and rain a non issue! We also spent some time up in Northern VA seeing my family (a special bonus of doing so many weddings in that area). So all in all, super fun week and there’s only more to come as the leaves keep changing :]

Time for some wedding-y, NOVA-y, feels:

• We had a new wedding first this weekend: after the reception on Saturday, we started the walk back to our car…and got lost. For a full forty minutes. We’re laughing about it now, but at the time…it was not funny. Especially when we walked to the end of a dock thinking it would get us to our destination and it turned out to lead straight into the bay. Only us.
• My brain has forgiven myself, but my feet have not. One new pair of ballet flats and several blisters later and they are still holding a grudge.
• My grandma got new hearing aids recently, and one of the settings is called “party.” And if you know anything about my sassy grandma, you know that this suits her perfectly. She does a little dance whenever she switches them to party mode.
• David and I are almost caught up on our favorite podcast aka Dear Hank and John and my favorite quote (paraphrased) was something to this effect: “Why would I go outside? That’s what we made INSIDE for!”
• I’ve got a favorite road in Radford. It’s lined with beautiful trees and there is a perfect week every year that the leaves turn orange. This year, I’m very motivated to capture it on camera. I’ll keep you updated :]
• Two years ago, I won a hundred dollar gift card to Bath and Body Works. And I’ve used almost ALL of it on Sweater Weather candles. Such a good decision.
