Today is so dreary and rainy, and if that’s going to happen any time past Thanksgiving, it may as well be snow, right?! So in the spirit of bringing some warmth into the dreariness…here’s a post from the archives :] This past October specifically!
I’ve gushed about The Rising Tide Society and Tuesdays Together here on the blog before. We get to meet up monthly and talk business, eat something yummy/drink something warm, and just have some fun together. There’s something to be said for talking with people who “get” you. These other small business owners, they understand the grind of not having a normal schedule, of practicing a lot of self discipline, of making sacrifices to pursue a dream and a calling. Meeting with them monthly is definitely a highlight for me. So much so that even in the midst of an incredibly busy month…aka October…it’s still a priority to make the drive to Roanoke to be with them. Especially when portraits are involved :]
Our October meeting ended up being a headshot swap. My good friend Ashley Powell organized everything along with Emily Yost and it was such a success! I was in the evening group and we ended up all being photogs!! So we all just took turns taking portraits of each other. It was such a fun evening and so encouraging to get to trade places behind and in front of the camera.
