Friends, it’s almost the end of the year. How is that even?! It sneaks up on me every single time! I’m hoping I’m not alone here, but didn’t I just figure out how to stop writing 2015 on things?
Phew. Besides the fact that I’m having my annual crisis of “how does time move so quickly, what am i even doing?” this past week was a good one. It’s the end of the semester with Cru, so I got to do lots of fun/yummy things with students. We’ve had lots of christmas-y baked goods and finally figured out all of our holiday plans! We do a round tour of VA for the holidays and throw in a 5 day conference and some sessions so it’s nice to know what we’ll be up to for the next month :]
Yesterday I took some Christmas card photos for our Cru staff team and it was so fun! I love our staff family and it was nice to get to marathon five minute portraits for a lot of them :] And let me just tell you…family portraits are a whole different ball game with Ollie in the mix. See below.
That’s just how it goes with this little baby. Sometimes he just doesn’t want to be held. Here are some feels for ya:
- In order to put together my behind the scenes post, I had to do a lot of culling through old images and scrolling through my phone. And it made me overwhelmed with thankfulness! Yes, there’s been some hard stuff about this last year, but there’s been so much good! We’ve gotten to do some really fun things and we’re continually blessed by our little boy’s joy.
- We finished Stranger Things. It was kind of impossible to stop once we started. I don’t want to spoil anything, but I will just say – this is a must watch. And I’m really happy I understand all the internet Barb jokes now.
- Twinkle lights just make things better. They’re brightening up my living room and my heart all at once.
- Recipe for the most Radford evening imaginable: Have a broken dryer. Go to the laundromat at 9PM to dry 4 loads of laundry. Wear pajama pants and crocs. That one moment described our little town to a T.
- Watching bloopers from the Office just makes me laugh uncontrollably. Contagious laughter is real and seeing Steve Carrell or Rainn Wilson lose it means I will as well.
- On Friday, my friend asked me if the dress I was wearing was LuLaRoe. It was not. It was Doctor Who. That’s a nerd win if I ever saw one.
Ollie’s got only one shoe on in the pictures below because #reallife.
